Usage Note
Falla is the standard Latin American Spanish word for a defect, fault, or failure — in Spain fallo is more common for the same sense. In geology it means a geological fault (falla tectónica). Las Fallas is also the famous Valencian festival known for giant papier-mâché sculptures.
