Usage Note
Extremadamente is a formal intensifier equivalent to 'extremely' or 'exceedingly'. In everyday speech it is often replaced by muy (very) or sumamente. It does not change form. Because it is long, speakers often prefer muy + adjective in informal registers, reserving extremadamente for emphasis in written or careful speech.
Examples
"La situación era extremadamente peligrosa."
Natural Translation
The situation was extremely dangerous.
