Usage Note

Excluyente is the present participle of excluir used as an adjective. It means something that excludes or leaves out, often used in political or social discourse (una política excluyente, un sistema excluyente). It is invariable for gender and adds -s in the plural. Do not confuse with exclusivo (exclusive as in 'luxury' or 'sole').
