Usage Note
Excesivamente is formed from excesivo + -mente and means to an excessive or immoderate degree: excesivamente caro (excessively expensive). Like all Spanish adverbs in -mente, it is invariable and placed after the adjective or verb it modifies. When two such adverbs appear in a series, only the second takes -mente: excesiva y innecesariamente (excessively and unnecessarily).
Examples
"El precio me parece excesivamente alto."
Natural Translation
The price seems excessively high to me.
Literal Translation
To-me seems excessively high the price.
