Usage Note
Evidencia is a partial false friend: in Spanish it most naturally means 'clear proof' or 'evidence' in a logical/academic sense, but in everyday spoken Spanish prueba is more common for legal evidence. The phrase poner en evidencia a alguien means to expose or embarrass someone — quite different from the English use of 'evidence'.
Examples
"La evidencia apunta claramente al sospechoso."
Natural Translation
The evidence clearly points to the suspect.
