espacial

spatial

adjective es-pah-SYAHL Rare

Also means

space (relating to outer space)

Usage Note

Espacial means relating to space or spatial relationships. In astronomy and technology contexts it specifically means relating to outer space: nave espacial ('spaceship'), estación espacial ('space station'). It should not be confused with especial ('special'), which sounds similar and is a very common learner error. The distinction lies in espac- (space) vs espec- (special).

Examples

"El programa espacial recibió más fondos."

Natural Translation

The space programme received more funding.
