Usage Note

Escrutado is the past participle of escrutar ('to scrutinize, to examine closely') used adjectivally. It agrees in gender and number: escrutada, escrutados. In electoral contexts, votos escrutados refers to ballots that have been counted; escrutinio (the noun) means 'scrutiny' or 'vote count.'
