Usage Note
Digital is invariable for gender (el mundo digital, la economía digital) and is identical in form to its English cognate. In Spanish, dedo (finger) and digital share the Latin root digitus, so huella digital (digital fingerprint, but also literally 'finger mark') keeps both senses alive. The phrase brecha digital (digital divide) is common in media and policy discourse.
Examples
"La firma digital es legalmente válida en muchos países."
Natural Translation
The digital signature is legally valid in many countries.
