Usage Note

Desplegar means to spread or unfold something (a map, a flag) and, in military or logistical contexts, to deploy troops or resources. It is a stem-changing verb (e → ie): despliega, despliegan… but desplegamos. The noun is despliegue ('deployment' or 'display'), as in un despliegue de fuerzas ('a deployment of forces').
