Deslocalizado in chemistry describes electrons (or electron density) that are not confined to a single atom or bond but spread over several atoms, as in aromatic systems or conjugated polymers. Electrones deslocalizados are responsible for electrical conductivity in organic semiconductors. The antonym is localizado. The concept is central to resonance theory.
