Derribo refers to the act or result of tearing down a structure (el derribo de un edificio). In aviation, it is also the technical term for shooting down an aircraft (el derribo del avión). The related verb is derribar (to knock down, to topple). In the plural, los derribos often refers to the rubble or salvage from a demolished building, a usage common in construction contexts.
