Usage Note
Derrocamiento is the act of violently or forcibly removing a government or leader from power (el derrocamiento del dictador, the overthrow of the dictator). It derives from derrocar (to topple). It is a political and historical term; for the gentler removal of a leader, destitución or dimisión are more appropriate.
