Demostrado is the past participle of demostrar (to prove, to demonstrate) used adjectivally. Está demostrado que… ('it has been proven that…') is a very common framing in academic and journalistic writing. The related noun is demostración. Note that demostrar can mean both 'to prove' (a logical claim) and 'to show' (a practical skill or emotion).
