Delimitar means to draw or set precise boundaries — geographic, legal, or conceptual. It is a transitive verb: delimitar una zona, delimitar responsabilidades. More formal than marcar los límites, it is the standard term in legal, administrative, and academic writing. Do not confuse with eliminar (to eliminate) despite the similar ending.
