Usage Note
Delantal is the standard word for a kitchen or work apron across the Spanish-speaking world. The synonym mandil (from Arabic, originally a hand-towel) is also widely used regionally, but delantal is the neutral, broadly understood term. It is masculine despite ending in a consonant.
