Usage Note

Cubo means both a bucket (cubo de basura, rubbish bin/trash can) and a geometric cube. In Spain cubo de basura is the standard term for a bin; in much of Latin America bote de basura or basurero is preferred. As a mathematical solid, cubo is also the standard term and the origin of cúbico (cubic).
