Also means
to go a long way
Usage Note
Cundir is a useful but tricky verb: it can mean that something spreads (panic, a rumour, fire) or that a resource stretches further than expected. El arroz cunde mucho means 'rice goes a long way'. Because its subjects are usually things, it appears mostly in third-person forms, and it has no close single-word English equivalent.
Examples
"El pánico cundió entre la multitud."
Natural Translation
Panic spread through the crowd.
