Usage Note

Crueldad is the abstract noun for cruelty or an act of cruelty. It ends in -dad and is therefore always feminine — the same suffix pattern as bondad, libertad, verdad. The phrase con crueldad ('cruelly') and the plural crueldades ('acts of cruelty') are both common.
