Cruel is invariable for gender (un hombre cruel / una mujer cruel) but adds -es in the plural (tratos crueles). It implies deliberate infliction of pain or suffering. The noun form is crueldad (cruelty). A common intensifier is sumamente cruel (extremely cruel).
