Usage Note
Correctivo as an adjective describes measures, actions, or lenses (as in lentes correctivas) that serve to correct something. As a noun, un correctivo means a reprimand or a punishment meant to correct behavior — darle un correctivo means to teach someone a lesson. The noun use is more colloquial than the adjective.
