Usage Note
Corral refers to an enclosed pen for livestock — the word was borrowed directly into English. In older Spanish, a corral de comedias was an open-air theater courtyard, a precursor to the modern theater. In Latin America corral is the standard word for a livestock pen; in Spain aprisco or redil may be used for sheep specifically.
