Usage Note

Contemplado has two very different uses. In legal and administrative language lo contemplado means what is foreseen or provided for in a law or plan (según lo contemplado en el artículo 3). In colloquial speech ser muy contemplado means to be spoiled or treated with too much indulgence — a false friend of English 'contemplated'. Context is essential.
