Consolidación describes the process of making something stronger or more stable, whether a business position, a democratic system, or a physical structure. Consolidación de la democracia and consolidación fiscal (fiscal consolidation) are very common collocations in Spanish journalism. The verb is consolidar and the adjective consolidado (consolidated, established).
