consistencia

consistency

noun kohn-sees-TEN-syah Rare

Also means

thickness, texture

Usage Note

Consistencia has two main senses: the physical texture or density of a substance (la consistencia de la crema — 'the consistency of the cream') and the logical coherence of an argument or person's behaviour (actuar con consistencia — 'to act consistently'). The adjective is consistente. Do not confuse with constancia ('perseverance, steadfastness'), which is a false friend trap.

Examples

"La mezcla debe tener consistencia cremosa."

Natural Translation

The mixture should have a creamy consistency.
