Also means
comprehension
Usage Note
Comprensión covers both intellectual understanding (la comprensión del texto) and sympathetic tolerance of others (tiene mucha comprensión con sus alumnos). The adjective is comprensivo/a, which is a false friend: it means 'understanding/tolerant', NOT 'comprehensive' — use exhaustivo or integral for that sense. The plural comprensiones is grammatically valid but rarely used; the noun is typically treated as uncountable.
Examples
"La comprensión lectora mejora con la práctica."
Natural Translation
Reading comprehension improves with practice.
