Usage Note
Colección refers to a curated set of items — artworks, stamps, fashion lines — and by extension a book series or publishing imprint. The verb is coleccionar and the person is coleccionista. It is a false-cognate trap: in Spanish it never means 'collecting a debt' (that is cobrar).
Examples
"Tiene una colección de monedas antiguas."
Natural Translation
She has a collection of old coins.
