Usage Note

Coco means both the coconut fruit and, in children's speech, the bogeyman (el coco te va a llevar = 'the bogeyman will get you'). Colloquially it also means 'head' or 'brain' (tiene buen coco = 'he has a good head on his shoulders'). The coconut palm is la palmera de coco or cocotero.
