Usage Note

Baya is the botanical and culinary term for a berry — any small, fleshy fruit (arándanos, moras are bayas). Take care not to confuse it with its seseo homophones vaya (subjunctive of ir) and valla (fence/hurdle). Bayas del bosque is a common food label for forest berries.
