Usage Note
Cintura means the waist as a body part, but also the narrowest part of any object shaped similarly (cintura de la botella). The related verb ceñir means to fit tightly around the waist. A common phrase is apretarse el cinturón (to tighten one's belt — to economize), based on the derived noun cinturón (belt), not cintura itself.
Examples
"Le duele la cintura después de trabajar tantas horas."
Natural Translation
His waist hurts after working so many hours.
