Cerrado is the past participle of cerrar used as an adjective. Beyond the literal sense (la tienda está cerrada), it describes a person as narrow-minded or unreceptive (una mentalidad cerrada), and in some regions a thick or strong accent (habla con un acento muy cerrado).
