Usage Note
Busca is mainly found in the fixed phrase en busca de (in search of), which is slightly more literary than en búsqueda de. It also serves as the third-person singular present of buscar (busca = he/she/it searches), so context decides whether it is a noun or verb form. As a standalone noun it is feminine.
Examples
"El explorador salió en busca del tesoro."
Natural Translation
The explorer set out in search of the treasure.
