Brutalidad denotes extreme cruelty or savage violence, and appears frequently in phrases like brutalidad policial (police brutality). It is an abstract noun and uncountable in most uses, though the plural brutalidades is possible when referring to specific acts. The adjective brutal is used independently and also as a colloquial intensifier ('brutal partido' = great game) in informal speech.
