Usage Note
Borde refers to the edge or rim of a surface (el borde de la mesa) or a cliff edge (al borde del precipicio). In informal Spain it also functions as an adjective meaning rude or unfriendly (no seas tan borde = 'don't be so rude'), a usage largely absent in Latin America. It is always masculine.
Examples
"Caminaba al borde del río."
Natural Translation
He was walking along the edge of the river.
