Usage Note
Bombardero refers both to the aircraft (un bombardero estratégico — a strategic bomber) and, historically, to the artillery soldier who operated mortars or bombs. In modern military Spanish the aircraft sense is dominant. The word is masculine; there is no commonly used feminine form in the military-aircraft sense.
