Bolsa means a bag or sack in everyday life (bolsa de plástico — plastic bag) and also the stock exchange in a financial context (la Bolsa de Madrid, subir en bolsa). In Mexico bolsa is the standard word for a handbag, while Spain more often uses bolso for that.
