Usage Note
Años is the plural of año (year). Age in Spanish is expressed with tener: tengo veinte años ('I am twenty years old'), not soy. The phrase ¡Feliz cumpleaños! (Happy birthday!) literally means 'happy birthday-years'. Note the tilde on ñ; omitting it (anos) produces a vulgar anatomical word.
Examples
"Tiene treinta años y trabaja aquí."
Natural Translation
She is thirty years old and works here.
Literal Translation
She has thirty years and works here.
