Usage Note

Auxiliar is both an adjective (verbo auxiliar = auxiliary verb) and a noun referring to a support worker (auxiliar de enfermería = nursing assistant, auxiliar de vuelo = flight attendant). It does not change for gender: el auxiliar / la auxiliar. In grammar, the auxiliaries haber and ser form compound tenses.
