Usage Note

Austriaco (also austríaco with a written accent in some style guides — both are accepted by the RAE) refers to Austria. When used as a noun, un austriaco / una austriaca means an Austrian person. It should not be confused with australiano (Australian) — a mix-up learners sometimes make. The related noun is Austria.
