Atrapado is the past participle of atrapar used as an adjective. It describes being physically caught or figuratively stuck in a situation, relationship, or system. The verb atrapar itself ('to catch, to trap') is more vivid and informal than capturar (to capture). The compound quedar atrapado (to get trapped) is the standard construction.
