Usage Note
Aterrador is the active-participle adjective from aterrar ('to terrify') and means causing terror or dread. It works with ser for an inherent quality: una historia aterradora (a terrifying story). Do not confuse it with aterrizar ('to land'), which derives from tierra ('earth') and is unrelated in meaning.
