armario
wardrobe
noun ar-MAH-ryoh Rare
Origin: From Latin armarium (chest for weapons or tools).
Also means
cupboard
Usage Note
Armario refers to a free-standing or built-in wardrobe or cupboard: armario empotrado is a built-in wardrobe (equivalent to a 'fitted wardrobe' in British English or 'closet' in American English). In everyday speech, el armario is also used metaphorically in the phrase salir del armario ('to come out of the closet'). Do not confuse with armería (armoury), despite the shared Latin root.
Examples
"Guardó los abrigos en el armario."
Natural Translation
She put the coats in the wardrobe.
