Usage Note
Apercibir has two main senses: to officially warn or notify someone (formal/legal register), and the reflexive apercibirse de meaning to notice or become aware of something. The reflexive use is more common in literary and careful prose. Do not confuse with percibir (to perceive, to receive a salary).
