Usage Note
Urbanizable is a legal and urban-planning term describing land that has been designated or approved for residential or commercial development — it can be built upon. Its opposite is no urbanizable (protected or rural land that cannot be developed). The word appears almost exclusively in planning documents, real-estate law, and property journalism in Spain; in Latin America apto para urbanizar is more common phrasing.
Examples
"El ayuntamiento declaró el terreno urbanizable."
Natural Translation
The council declared the land developable.
