Usage Note
Ultrarreligioso is a compound formed with the intensifying prefix ultra- and religioso. It describes a person or group with an extremely rigid or fundamentalist religious observance. It tends to carry a critical or distancing tone in journalistic use. Note the double rr in spelling because ultra- ends in a vowel and religioso begins with r.
