Tripulación refers to the entire crew of a ship, aircraft, or spacecraft — not just a subset. The singular is collective: la tripulación estaba lista (the crew was ready). Individual crew members are tripulantes (el tripulante). Avoid confusing it with equipo (team), which is used for sports or work groups.
