Usage Note

Triplicar means to multiply by three or to increase threefold. It can be transitive (triplicar las ventas, triple the sales) or reflexive (las ventas se triplicaron, sales tripled). As an -car verb it spells c as qu before -e endings (tripliqué, triplique).
