Usage Note
Trascender is an e→ie stem-changing verb. It carries two main senses: to go beyond limits (su fama trasciende las fronteras) and, in journalism, to leak out or become public (trascendió que hubo una reunión secreta). The second sense is common in Latin American Spanish and may surprise learners expecting only the philosophical meaning.
