Usage Note

Topografía refers both to the physical relief of a landscape and to the technical discipline of surveying and mapping terrain. A practitioner is a topógrafo. In geology and engineering contexts it overlaps with relieve (relief) and cartografía (cartography), but topografía specifically implies measurement and detailed surface features.
