Also means
to bump against
Usage Note
Topar (or toparse con) means to unexpectedly encounter someone or something — the reflexive form me topé con él ('I ran into him') is the most natural everyday use. It can also mean to butt heads literally (of animals) or figuratively. Do not confuse with tocar (to touch) or tropezar (to trip or stumble).
Examples
"Me topé con ella en el supermercado."
Natural Translation
I ran into her at the supermarket.
