Usage Note
Teoría contrasts with práctica: en teoría means 'in theory' and is often used to signal scepticism about whether something works in practice. The adjective teórico (theoretical) and the noun teórico (a theorist) are closely related. Do not confuse with tesis (thesis), which is a specific argued proposition.
